About Me

I grew up in rural Minnesota, and became an Oregon transplant thirty-five years ago.  My education in mental health includes undergraduate coursework in psychology from University of Minnesota and a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from University of Oregon.  I have worked in community mental health centers, hospital behavioral health, and private practice.

My approach is eclectic, as I utilize a number of theories and methods I have studied and practiced over the years, and blend them with my personal style.  Because, in addition to ongoing clinical training, I have diligantly engaged in consultation, as well as in my own personal work , I feel I have a lot to offer to clients.  I have been been recently studying the imprints on the body and psyche of early life experiences, and how they can affect us lifelong, often outside our conscious awareness.

In my personal life I strive for balance, and increasing and bringing variety into fun and creative expression is always a practice. I have two grown children and one cat.
